Grieg's health is so precarious that he does not know yet if he ought to go to England. Grieg has been offered a conductor's fee of only 50 pounds. Added to that will be the joy of seeing the Brodskys. Grieg does not think that a performance of his 3 sonatas in one concert will bring an audience but is keen to have a concert of his orchestral works in Liverpool. Grieg has just discovered a third performer of his piano concerto, no less than Sapellnikoff. He played in the Liszt-Verein in Leipzig and will play the concerto in England in April. Grieg has received a telegram from Sapellnikoff and Schroeder in St. Petersburg inviting him to give 2 concerts there. Grieg greatly appreciates Brodsky's invitation to stay at his house but regrets that dreadful health compels him always to stay in hotels. Dated 9 Dec 1895.
