This collection is the merger of three bodies of papers. The material previously catalogued under M and RNCM as well as a large single accession from 2015 of college papers.

Scope and content
This collection consists of the institutional archive of the Royal Northern College of Music from its formation in 1973 to the present. It is not complete, some sections of the catalogue are rather thin but some sections are fairly comprehensive such as governance meeting papers and performance programmes. There are hundreds of photographs to do with many aspects of the college.

The format of the previously names M catalogue has been retained, with the previously catalogued RNCM and unaccessioned material inserted into this structure. Within this arrangement, the papers are grouped according to function or subject where appropriate, for inctance, the photographs are arranged by subject or theme whereas minutes are arranged chronologically.
